In some cases we can pay for patents up-front, but the preferred business model is to pay the patent holder a substantial share of the gross revenues collected from settlements and judgments. Please note: under our model, the patent holders collect many times more from the licensing campaign than they would collect from an up-front patent sale. Once we have completed our research on the portfolio and prepared a business plan, we can provide a projection of what we expect to collect over the lifetime of the licensing campaign. Please note that we pay a share of gross revenue, so there's no uncertainty as to what the patent seller receives.
Of course, we cover all the costs, including the various litigators, USPTO PTAB IPR attorneys and expert witnesses. Our team will take care of all aspects of licensing, from litigation in U.S. Federal court, ITC and international jurisdictions.
We act as plaintiff, so the inventors are not parties to the litigation.
