Patent for Sale:Electrochemical Treatment of Biological Processes
For a combined electrochemical and chemotherapy approach, hollow electrodes with multiple ports connected to a chemotherapy source can be used for in situ delivery of drugs or medication. Similar electrodes with internal fiber optics coupled to a light source can be used for photochemically activated drugs. Several other approaches, utilizing properties of the material of the electrodes to create cytotoxic agents, are also claimed.
In the pending patent application (CIP) the disclosure defines electronic delivery systems and methods with feedback, incorporating the electrochemical treatment of tissues described in the three issued patents, as well as methods for diagnosis and treatment.
Primary Application of the Technology
-Electrochemical treatment to destroy unwanted tissue, e.g., benign tumor
-Electrodes, e.g., for combined electrical or electrochemical treatment and in situ drug delivery
