TV-remote with Transparent Touch-Screen for Performing Multi-Touch Functions

Remotely performing multi-touch functions on a TV-screen, as the user viewing the TV-screen from distance through a transparent touch-screen that is held by the user as the TV remote.

Overview

When graphic contents on the small screen of a hand-held device (e.g., a smart-phone or a tablet-computer) are simultaneously displayed on a big TVscreen, some people want to interact with the big TV-screen remotely without the need to look at the same graphic contents on the small screen. This technology can transform any large display area into a multi-touch screen.

In a first example, some elders need the reading glass to read the contents on the small screen of the hand-held device, but they will have to take off the reading glass to read the contents on the big TV-screen from a distance. On the other hand, some others elder need a distance glass to read the contents on the big TV-screen, but they will have to take off the distance glass to read the contents on the small screen of the hand-held device. This technology enables these elders to remotely perform multi-touch functions on the TV-screen with no change of glasses by viewing the TV-screen from distance through a transparent touch-screen on a TV remote.

In another example, multiple users can play multi-touch games such as Fruit Ninja on a big TVscreen, when each of these multiple users views the TV-screen from distance through a transparent touch-screen on a portable device.

Primary Application of the Technology

Helping elders to interact with the TV-screen remotely without the need to change either a reading glasses or a distance glass.

Enabling multiple users to play multi-touch games on a big TV screen.
