A constant flow valve with no "off" or "non-flow" position. Liquid can be directed to a number of different ports one at a time. The amount of delivered liquid or flow to a single distribution port can be adjusted from 100% of the available supply to 0%. All the liquid diverted away from the distribution ports, can be returned to the supply reservoir or be supplied to a second valve providing additional distribution ports. The valve changes position by an attached, external mechanism such as an encoded gear motor (existing technology). Encoded gear motors get their instructions from programmable logic controllers (PLCs) (existing technology). PLCs can get their instructions remotely over a number of different wireless platforms.
Primary Application of the Technology
This valve was designed to enable the development of a "remote real-time fire defense system" (system) for buildings threatened by wildfires. A remote fire defense system does not exist however all necessary components for a system do exist. Starting with gas powered water pumps designed for remote fire fighting and remotely controlled monitors (water guns), fire retardant foams that are applied to protect buildings from flying hot ambers. There are infrared sensors, aka thermal imaging cores that could gather images surrounding protected areas and programmable logic controllers that can send and receive data.
For homes without a water source such as a pool or hot tub, bladder tanks or drop tanks could be installed prior to threatening wildfire. The system using this valve would be powered by its own 24 volt power supply. This valve coupled with this existing technology would make up a fire defense system enabling offsite personnel to defend the building off site. The system would be designed for marked or "tagged" buildings by fire company personnel as too costly or dangerous to protect. The concept for this fire defense system has been discussed with professionals and was well received. The "system" does not exist today but could be developed by an engineering firm or an engineering Univeristy.

How the Technology Solves the Problem
A head of the approaching wildfire a trained team installs a remotely controlled fire defense system. Components of the system include; a thermal imaging core (exist) which sends 360 degree images to control. If a water reservoir does not already exist (pool), a drop tanked or bladder tank (exist) is installed and filled. A remotely controlled gas powered pump (exist) and remotely controlled valve, (patented) are installed to the water reservoir. Firehose is attached from the 'valve" to the remotely controlled water guns AKA "monitors" (exist). Fire retardant foam can also be applied (off and on) from the monitors. Control of the gas powered pump, the "valve", the monitors, and the fire retardant foam are all controlled by the off site control person based on real-time images from the thermal imaging core.
