Tick Removal Lotion Patents and related Trademarks

Non toxic solution to safely and easily remove ticks from the skin of a human or pet.

Overview

The product is a topical solution that has been packaged as a pre-moistened towlette or bottled liquid that will safely and easily remove ticks from the epidermis of humans and/or pets (canine, equine). The non toxic solution removes the layer of skin that the tick initially attaches to, by a secretion. Then, an astringent is used to push the blood supply away from the point of contact, encouraging the tick to disengage for lack of a food supply. The product does not kill or harm the tick and it works within seconds of application if the tick has not augered in (which generally takes 12-24 hours). It will work within a minute or two if its pincers have penetrated the skin.

Primary Application of the Technology

The topical solution will work on humans and pets. The primary target is outdoor types: hunters, fisherman, farmers, golfers etc., families and pet owners in the US, Europe, Australia and Asia. Ticks are a worldwide problem, not necessarily limited to warmer climates (one of the highest incidences of lyme disease has been in Wisconsin/Minnesota recently).

There is no non-toxic product that will do this for humans now. For pets, they can use the "Spot On" products (Frontline etc.) to prevent ticks, but there is no non-toxic alternative there either. So

The Problem Solved by the Technology

Ticks are extremely difficult to remove and more importantly carry multiple diseases that have proven to be problematic for humans and pets, including but not limited to Lyme, Babesiosis and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. The quicker the tick is removed from the skin, the likelihood that any transmission of disease occurred is reduced. No other product can remove a tick as quickly and be as safe doing so.

How the Technology Solves the Problem

The solution is non toxic and has been found in cosmetic products. No other topical solution in this market is as safe.

Competitive Advantage

There is currently no product that removes a tick easily and safely. All of the products are either toxic chemicals that kill or maim the tick and still leave the tick embedded, or are tick removal devices that tear, kill or maim the tick while it is engaged in the skin. This product entices the tick to do what comes natural, leave for a different food source.
