FDA Approved CPR/CCR Resuscitation Metronome

An AHA compliant medical device designed to improve the quality of resuscitation provided to a patient requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and/or cardiocerebral resuscitation (CCR).

Overview

The focus of the latest guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA) is on providing high-quality CPR/CCR. To achieve this, rescuers must place strong emphasis on the delivery of effective chest compressions and proper ventilatory rates. Multiple studies have shown that correct compression and ventilatory rates are difficult to maintain even by trained professionals. The AHA has recognized that prompts can significantly improve the adherence to current CPR Guidelines.

The device’s user interface allows rescuers to make selections that customize the device’s guidance by combining user selections with the built-in logic ensure the guidance is situation specific. The metronome provides audible tones and visual feedback to guide the rescuer to compress the patient’s chest, ventilate the patient, and provide interventions after every two minutes of resuscitation. These prompts help to ensure the rescuer follows the best resuscitation practices.

Primary Application of the Technology

Adherence to best-practice guidelines and improving the quality of CPR/CCR and CPR/CCR education in both the public and healthcare markets. Suited for home use, school and athletic events as well as professional settings such as clinics, hospital and emergency pre-hospital use.
