Overview

Wavelength converters are essential devices used to create advanced flexible wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) networks. The technology is capable of obtaining a FWM (four-wave mixing) light with a less broadened spectrum by phase-modulating signal light at the same frequency, at the same time as a stimulated brillouin scattering phenomenon is suppressed by either a phase modulating operation or a frequency modulating operation of pumping light.
