A composite-type mixed oxygen ion and electronic conductor with mixed electrical conductivity occurring from oxygen ions and electrons and having oxygen permeability.

Overview

The technology is a composite-type mixed oxygen ion and electronic conductor ideally used as the electrode material for fuel cells and oxygen-permeation membranes for oxygen separation from air, or partial oxidation of methane. The technology has high oxygen permeability, and does not easily cause the aged deterioration.

Primary Application of the Technology

Primary applications include - electrode material for solid electrolyte-type fuel cell in addition to hydrogen production by methane reforming. Plus with oxygen partial pressure gradient generated by pressurizing the air side, oxygen separation from the air is possible, therefore it is also applicable to the generator of pure oxygen and oxygen-enriched gas.
