Overview

Enables synthesis of a cubic boron nitride/diamond composite layer on a variety of substrates such as metals, alloys and semiconductor materials by first depositing diamond directly on the said substrates and then growing cubic boron nitride directly on diamond.

Making the composite layer without using turbostratic boron nitride, insensitive to humidity and growing in epitaxial, resulting in high film adherence.

Primary Application of the Technology

Coating tools used in high temperature and high frequency electronic and mechanical devices.
